SONG SooYoung
Korea Tomorrow 2015
The gray snow resembles the pigeon in that, although it was once a symbol of peace, the pigeon has transformed into a symbol of the city’s pollution. Thus, my work involves superimposing two objects which resemble each other, not only visually but also in terms of their socio-cultural significance. In practice, this means piling together gray snow into the semblance of pigeons.
Although the subject of my work varies, I explicate the common denominator of my work through their titles: the superimposition of images.
