Korea Tomorrow 2014

SungHong Min focuses on revealing the individuals’ changes of situations and experiences emphasizes on inter-relationships based on his or others’ records; by doing so, he variously composite expansions of meanings, and dealing with transformation of time and space.
Min’s ‘Overlapped Sensibility’ series are displayed which the artist filtered through emotional fairytales and re-cognizing processes of meanings for his spaces of experiences and objects around him. He has expressed stories from his memories and emotions freely such as through paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installation. He expressed his overlapped emotions by pasting small ripped off photographs on pigment prints of targeted objects, or re-tapped them with transparent tapes on the cropped surface of photographs, or expressed his emotions through changing architectural structure with material and found objects. These are a process of re-cognizing ‘strangeness and vagueness’ that he is experiencing in his new environments and situations, and it is also his way for studying visual languages and forms as an artist. Min’s visual results let his audience question the foundation of one’s identity, and stimulate the hidden emotions in inner minds.
