Korea Tomorrow 2014
My installation presents ‘spatial drawing’ crossing the border between public, private and ordinary spaces by exploiting site-specificity derived from real space and architectural structures. This work can be explained as involving some specific structure of multisensory clues to set up new norms and boundaries in viewer’s perception, subverting preexisting spatial systems and structure.
My work is a kind of a ‘story’ crossing the structure and flow of space we are aware of, and it exists as an event enabling viewers to face a place’s ordinary time, their physicality, and memories encapsulated in a space. Through the medium of this installation work, I expect to structure ‘a narrative between individuals, communities and specific spaces’, and demonstrate its ability as empirical space generating intriguing meanings within each individuals like an adventure or a journey that takes place in our everyday lives.
