LEE Myoung-bok
Korea Tomorrow 2017
Historic scenery of land and person based on spirit of realism
The “spirit of realism” approach that Lee, Myoung-Bok is pursuing has opened a new way to view the beauty in a social scenery.
There are different ways to view the world, but the greatness within human being is found when a person discovers what he or she can do for the society.
When a beautiful scenery embraces a tragedy and there is an opportunity to sublimate such tragedy to truth, every scenery that exist will be a philanthropic scene and also a communication of love to the world.
The place where I am standing now is my real place.
To this day, artist Lee, Myoung-Bok stands under the starry Jeju Island sky in search for the history of the general public, in particular the early morning workers.
