KANG SukHo

Korea Tomorrow 2014

“Trans-Society Project” begins with transplanting a biological society of termites into a book and letting them eat, gnaw a path through, and make a nest in it. Book is a man-made world, a micro-civilization. As the project progresses, the book ? that particular world and civilization ? is destroyed as much as the termites build their society in and out of it. Presented by the photographs and videos that record this process, the alien scenes lead us to fresh ways to understand the world and new ways in which we relate ourselves to it.
