KANG KangHoon

Korea Tomorrow 2014

My painting that requires a great deal of time is a record about the time spent with dedication.
There remains my sensibility while enjoying the mood of the night, fatigue that surges like smell of caffeine at the dawn, and time accompained by loneliness in dark silence.
I try to express the borderline between the reality and fantasy that modern people dream of. That directly relates to the subject of our ambiguous position on the borderline between reality and ideal. The way of depicting the picture of us locked in the world of reality along with a visionary setup is quite candid realism. To me, realism is a concept of time that alerts me to the present as well as a sense pf reality that tells me where I am. It means facing harsh realities that cannot be avoided and becomes a framework deciding the limits of our thoughts. This is the power and message of realism.
May the irony made by clash of unusual things will pound the hearts of lost egos in current society.
