Korea Tomorrow 2015
I start my work by trying to make exactly same color as the sky.
The deep clear sky blue is made by mixing ultramarine blue, white and a little bit of red and yellow. The sky blue brings its beauty to the canvas, however this colour is just made by the tuning process, not aesthetic judgment.
As a symbol of the tidal flow, the color belt moves up and down, gradually changing the tones of the background to white, before reverting to the original colour. I wait and draw a line if the color surface guides the way on the well finished blue surface painted with dozens of color control processes.
When I start to draw I clearly feel the physical friction from the surface, but my artistic sense is almost not working. Drawings always fly to unexpected directions. Lines leave the traces as like moving in space.
I look at another world created by peoples’ dreams beyond this world.
