A short description regarding “ON THE TRACE OF ERROR”.
The format of the project name ?“ON THE TRACE OF ERROR”- has derived from the title of one of Nicolaus Copernicus’ writings: <On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres>. Transition of a paradigm reflects a complete alternation from earlier values. Those changed values are hard to make comparison with the original ones. They are interpreted differently depending on each paradigm. Errors that occur from this need investigations in certain contexts. This project holds a process where original values and agreed definitions fundamentally go through a transition as systems and environments change. 17 basic colors set by the web language go through an algorithm transferring RGB values to CMYK values and the originality of the colors is redefined by each elements. Then a lobby of a certain building is transferred into a flat surface through photography and by another set of standards, it is separated into many different forms. These selected 17 colors and 42 forms build up a database of a process in which you can participate in. Through this, interactive painting takes place. The color and form set from the web is a selective process, but a real-time creating and altering method gives birth to a massive number of images. Colors that have already gone through the process of transformation from RGB to CMYK are redefined by the act of digital born images being printed and transferred once again on to the canvas. Thus, the image fixed on the canvas triggers a question about originality.
