1. A piece of stone, a piece of thought
- A Temporary Pause in Thought Process
My thoughts collide with that of another individual, and the two thoughts get connected to generate a whole new concept. These diverse thoughts-the tangible form and process of ‘thoughts’-are visualized using stones, photo-collage on stones to be exact; a piece of stone symbolizes a thought and the stones make relationships with each other and thence expand to a new, transformed thought.

‘A thought’ experiences the repetitive process of generation and extinction, passing by this time of reconciliation and transformation. In many cases, regardless of the depth and weight, a piece of thought remaining and passing by hold the equivalent values and exist in equal level.

Using stones as my materials and photo-collage using magnets as my medium, I intended to visualize ‘a thought process-paused.’

2.  EINSTEIN / EIN STEIN
- Thoughts Expanded to Space
The two words-EINTEIN and EIN STEIN-evoke the image of a stone to one’s mind. Combining two contradicting images-a piece of stone (EIN STEIN in German languages) and name of one of the world-renown physicist EINSTEIN-a thought is formed into a tangible, visible thing which displays the spectrum of thoughts and thus transmits a conceptual notion into a realistic, tangible space.

- Photographic-sculpture Utilizing Magnets
The reason that I use magnets as a linkage between stones is its unique characteristic: polarity. Passing through the repeated process of being linked and collided, thoughts can be expanded and varied.

Imagination means to draw an image in your mind of an unexperienced phenomenon or a matter.
Not stopping at the stage of imagination, one can ignore the rule of gravity and install materials on ceilings or walls to express the relationship between materials and space as finite yet seemingly boundless.
